Job Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair desktops, laptops, workstations and peripherals at component level where economically sensible.
  • Assemble and configure custom desktops and workstations to client specification.
  • Install and reinstall operating systems, drivers and licensed software; migrate user data safely.
  • Recover data from failing drives where possible and advise honestly when it is not.
  • Manage the workshop: intake, job cards, parts inventory, warranty claims and turnaround times.
  • Test and quality-check every unit before it goes back to the client.
  • Advise the procurement team on parts, pricing and which vendors are actually reliable.
Educational Requirements
  • Diploma in Computer Hardware, Electronics or a related field; or +2 with strong practical experience.
  • CompTIA A+ is an advantage.
Experience Requirements
  • 1 to 3 years of hardware repair and assembly experience.
  • Confident with laptop disassembly, thermal management, RAM/SSD upgrades and BIOS-level troubleshooting.
  • Windows installation, activation, imaging and driver management.
  • Chip-level or board-level repair skill is a strong plus but not mandatory.
Additional Requirements
  • Methodical, careful and honest about what a repair will and will not fix.
  • You keep the workbench tidy and the screws in the right tray.
  • Willing to make occasional client site visits for on-site repairs.
Salary

Negotiable - based on your skills, experience and the practical assessment. We pay at Kathmandu market rate and review salaries at six months for strong performers.
