QA / Software Test Engineer

  • Baniyatar Height 3, Tokha, Kathmandu - On-site
  • Full-time
  • 1 to 3 year(s)
  • 2 openings
  • Apply by 31st October, 2026
Takes about 3 minutes. Have your CV ready as a PDF.
Job Responsibilities
  • Write and execute test plans and test cases for web applications, mobile apps and client integrations.
  • Do exploratory testing that finds the bugs the test cases missed - the unusual path a real user takes.
  • Report defects clearly: exact steps, environment, expected versus actual, evidence attached.
  • Run cross-browser and cross-device testing, including low-end Android and slow connections.
  • Build and maintain automated test suites (Playwright, Cypress or Selenium) for regression coverage.
  • Test APIs directly with Postman; validate data integrity end to end.
  • Own the release checklist and be the person who says "not yet" when it is genuinely not ready.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
  • ISTQB Foundation certification is an advantage.
Experience Requirements
  • 1 to 3 years of software testing experience.
  • Strong manual testing fundamentals; automation experience is a significant plus.
  • Familiar with bug trackers (Jira, GitHub Issues, ClickUp) and writing reproducible reports.
  • Basic SQL for verifying what actually landed in the database.
Additional Requirements
  • You are constructively sceptical and hard to satisfy - in a way developers respect.
  • Good written English; a vague bug report costs everyone a day.
  • Interest in moving toward automation or performance testing is encouraged and supported.
Salary

Negotiable - based on your skills, experience and the practical assessment. We pay at Kathmandu market rate and review salaries at six months for strong performers.

Compensation & Other Benefits
  • Competitive salary reviewed annually, plus performance-based increments
  • Festival bonus (Dashain/Tihar) and leave encashment as per company policy
  • Provident fund, gratuity and insurance in line with the Nepal Labour Act
  • Five-day working week with flexible start hours; hybrid options for eligible roles
  • Paid annual leave, sick leave and all gazetted public holidays
  • Company-funded certifications, courses and conference passes
  • Modern hardware, licensed tools and a quiet, well-equipped office in Tokha
  • A clear career track with six-monthly reviews - we promote from within first
Read Before Apply

Please apply only if you meet the core requirements listed above.

Attach an updated CV in PDF format and, where relevant, links to your portfolio, GitHub, Behance, Dribbble or live projects - applications for design and engineering roles without work samples are difficult to assess.

Shortlisted candidates are contacted within seven working days for a short introductory call, followed by a practical task (paid for senior roles) and a final interview with the team lead. Sambara Technologies never charges a fee at any stage of hiring and will never ask for payment for training, equipment or placement.
