IT Services & Support

Cloud & DevOps Engineer

  • Kathmandu, Nepal - Hybrid, remote-friendly within Nepal
  • Full-time
  • 3 to 6 year(s)
  • 1 opening
  • Apply by 31st December, 2026
Takes about 3 minutes. Have your CV ready as a PDF.
Job Responsibilities
  • Build and run the deployment pipelines that get our applications from a merged pull request to production safely.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or DigitalOcean, with cost as a first-class concern.
  • Containerise applications with Docker and orchestrate them where the complexity genuinely justifies it.
  • Define infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible) so environments are reproducible rather than hand-built.
  • Own observability: metrics, logs, traces, dashboards and alerts that page a human only when a human is needed.
  • Implement backup, failover and disaster recovery for client production systems, and test them.
  • Harden the pipeline and the infrastructure: secret management, least privilege, image scanning, patching.
  • Support developers directly - a good DevOps engineer removes friction rather than adding gatekeeping.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or a related field.
  • AWS, Azure or GCP associate-level certification preferred.
Experience Requirements
  • 3 to 6 years in DevOps, SRE, cloud or infrastructure engineering.
  • Strong Linux administration and shell scripting.
  • Production experience with Docker and at least one CI/CD system (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • Working knowledge of Nginx, load balancing, TLS/certificates and DNS.
  • Experience with monitoring and log aggregation stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK).
Additional Requirements
  • Kubernetes experience is a plus, but we value knowing when not to use it just as highly.
  • You automate the thing you have now done three times.
  • Comfortable being on an escalation rota for production incidents (compensated).
Salary

Negotiable - senior band, based on demonstrated ownership and delivery record. Reviewed at six months, with a performance bonus tied to project delivery.

Compensation & Other Benefits
  • Competitive salary reviewed annually, plus performance-based increments
  • Festival bonus (Dashain/Tihar) and leave encashment as per company policy
  • Provident fund, gratuity and insurance in line with the Nepal Labour Act
  • Five-day working week with flexible start hours; hybrid options for eligible roles
  • Paid annual leave, sick leave and all gazetted public holidays
  • Company-funded certifications, courses and conference passes
  • Modern hardware, licensed tools and a quiet, well-equipped office in Tokha
  • A clear career track with six-monthly reviews - we promote from within first
Read Before Apply

Please apply only if you meet the core requirements listed above.

Attach an updated CV in PDF format and, where relevant, links to your portfolio, GitHub, Behance, Dribbble or live projects - applications for design and engineering roles without work samples are difficult to assess.

Sambara Technologies never charges a fee at any stage of hiring and will never ask for payment for training, equipment or placement.
