Takes about 3 minutes. Have your CV ready as a PDF.
Job Responsibilities
  • Administer Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS) environments for Sambara and for managed clients.
  • Manage Active Directory, group policy, DNS, DHCP, file services and Microsoft 365 tenants.
  • Own the backup and disaster recovery regime - and actually test restores on a schedule, not just the backup job status.
  • Harden servers: patching, least-privilege access, firewall rules, endpoint protection, log review.
  • Administer virtualisation (Hyper-V, VMware or Proxmox) and cloud instances on AWS, Azure or DigitalOcean.
  • Plan and execute migrations - on-premise to cloud, mail platform moves, server refreshes - with minimal client downtime.
  • Write runbooks so that the next person can do the job without calling you at 11pm.
  • Respond to security incidents and produce an honest post-incident report.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • MCSA/MCSE, RHCSA, LFCS or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
Experience Requirements
  • 3 to 6 years administering production servers with real users depending on them.
  • Confident on the Linux command line: systemd, nginx/apache, cron, SSH hardening, log analysis.
  • Windows Server and Active Directory experience in a multi-site environment.
  • Scripting in PowerShell and Bash to remove repetitive work.
  • Monitoring stack experience (Zabbix, Prometheus/Grafana or similar).
Additional Requirements
  • You keep a clear head during an outage and communicate status without being asked.
  • You document as you go, in a place other people can find.
  • Security certifications or a genuine interest in defensive security is a strong plus.
Salary

Negotiable - senior band, based on demonstrated ownership and delivery record. Reviewed at six months, with a performance bonus tied to project delivery.

Compensation & Other Benefits
  • Competitive salary reviewed annually, plus performance-based increments
  • Festival bonus (Dashain/Tihar) and leave encashment as per company policy
  • Provident fund, gratuity and insurance in line with the Nepal Labour Act
  • Five-day working week with flexible start hours; hybrid options for eligible roles
  • Paid annual leave, sick leave and all gazetted public holidays
  • Company-funded certifications, courses and conference passes
  • Modern hardware, licensed tools and a quiet, well-equipped office in Tokha
  • A clear career track with six-monthly reviews - we promote from within first
Read Before Apply

Please apply only if you meet the core requirements listed above.

Attach an updated CV in PDF format and, where relevant, links to your portfolio, GitHub, Behance, Dribbble or live projects - applications for design and engineering roles without work samples are difficult to assess.

Shortlisted candidates are contacted within seven working days for a short introductory call, followed by a practical task (paid for senior roles) and a final interview with the team lead. Sambara Technologies never charges a fee at any stage of hiring and will never ask for payment for training, equipment or placement.
